$ 1.7 billion foreign investment to be introduced to improve water supply and sewerage system in Uzbekistan by 2024
In accordance with the report of discussions portal, $ 2,08 billion will be spent on the construction and reconstruction of potable water and sewage facilities in Uzbekistan, of which $ 1,7 billion will be funded by international financial institutions.
There are major organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the OPEC Fund among the international donors.
State budget of Uzbekistan will allocate $ 376 million.
Additionally, by 2024, $ 1,5 billion will be spent on the supply of drinking water and $ 502 million on the improvement of the sewage system.
In particular, the construction of “Tupalang” water refinement plant in Surkhandarya region with the capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day is one of the largest projects. The cost of the project is $ 187 million.
Another promising project is a water refinement plant in Jizzakh region with the capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day. Its value is $ 170,4 million.
