Uzbekistan ranked first in the growth consumer prices among former USSR members
Uzbekistan and Ukraine ranked first in the growth of consumer prices in the territory of the former USSR. The third and fourth places are taken by Tajikistan and Belarus, Belarusian mass media reported referring to the analysis of statistical data.
In January-October 2018, Uzbekistan (9.5%), Ukraine (7.4%) and Tajikistan (4.5%) ranked top in the rise of consumer prices. Following the results of 10 months, prices in Belarus increased by 4.2%, according to an analysis of the national statistical bodies conducted by BelaPAN.
Lower inflation was in Estonia (4.1%), Kazakhstan (3.7%), Latvia (3.1%), Russia (2.9%), Lithuania (2.7%), Georgia (0.4%) and Azerbaijan (0.2%).
In Armenia, prices decreased by 0.7% and in Kyrgyzstan - by 0.9%. Turkmenistan published data only for the first half of the year (price increase by 8.9%) and there are no changes in Moldova.
In October, prices in Belarus rose by 0.5%. Estonia also showed the same index. This is the sixth place after Ukraine (1.7%), Uzbekistan (1.3%), Latvia, Tajikistan (0.7%) and Lithuania (0.6%). Then comes - Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia (by 0.4% each), Georgia, Kyrgyzstan (0.3%), Azerbaijan (0.2%) and Armenia (0.1%).
