Traffic policemen must have body cameras starting from July 1, 2019
In Uzbekistan, from July 1, 2019, all traffic inspectors will be required to have body cameras during their service period, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the Ministry of Justice.
According to the data provided by the ministry, starting from July 1 of next year, drivers will have the right not to provide their documents to inspectors who do not carry body cameras.
The cameras will be designed in such a way that editing, deleting or changing the recorded content in any way will be practically impossible. They will also be connected to a single centralized management system which will guarantee constant control over the daily work of the traffic police inspectors.
When they come to work, the inspectors will receive a body camera that works automatically. It cannot be turned off until the inspectors return to the office. The camera will also be equipped with a GPS tracker to monitor the movement of employees.
In addition, effective from July 1, 2019, inspectors will be required to show drivers, detained for speeding, radar indicators and certificate of the device.
