Turkish Embassy to handle establishment of relations between Uzbekistan, NATO
The Turkish Embassy took charge of establishing contacts between NATO and Uzbekistan in 2019-2020, UzA reports.
It is worth noting that the task was handled by the Embassy of Latvia for the last two years. Now the Latvian side handed over the authority to Turkey at a ceremony in Tashkent.
The Embassy of Turkey in Tashkent has sent inquiry to the NATO Center in Brussels to establish ties between NATO and Uzbekistan and obtained affirmative answer.
“Uzbekistan is one of the most important countries for NATO, since NATO ships aid to Afghanistan through Uzbekistan,” Turkish Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ahmet Başar Şen said.
“The Embassy of Turkey will bridge exchange of information between Uzbekistan and NATO,” the Ambassador added.
