Uzbekistan ranked second in terms of remittances from Russia, Kun.uz correspondent reports citing data from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Remittances of individuals from Russia to Uzbekistan for the third quarter of 2018 exceeded $ 1.2 billion. First place in the ranking was taken by Switzerland with $ 2.5 billion.
Uzbekistan has been ranked first among the CIS countries for a long time. The second place is taken by Tajikistan with $ 779 million and the third by Kyrgyzstan with $ 661 million.
The average amount of one transfer to Uzbekistan was $ 393. It is worth noting that $ 938 million was sent by Uzbeks working in the Russian Federation, and only $ 315 million by the Russians themselves.
It should be recalled that in the second quarter of 2018, over $ 1 billion was sent from Russia to Uzbekistan.
This year alone, about a million citizens of Uzbekistan left for Russia to work.
