“Banks are working on December 30-31” – the Central Bank

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has sent a special letter to the territorial administrations, all commercial banks, CB departments, Republican Depository Service, General Headquarters of Informatization, SUE "Garov reyestri" and JV "United Republican Processing Center".

According to the address, on December 30 (till 17:00) and on the 31st (till 15:00), the interbank payment system will be provided in order to timely reflect the cash inflows received into the bank cash desks in the accounts of economic entities.

"In this regard, it is required to involve some employees of the banking system related to these issues in the manner prescribed in compliance with the legislation," the Central Bank said.

The letter also notes that the employees who were hired on weekends should be paid either in accordance with Article 157 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan or on the basis of the will of the employees.
