The International Airport named after Islam Karimov did not extend the contract with the private chain of restaurants “Caravan Group”, which was engaged in serving passengers in VIP and CIP-halls, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the statement of the restaurateur and founder of the network Timur Musin.
“The LLC “Caravan Group” has successfully cooperated with the SUE “International Airport named after Islam Karimov” since 2013. Unfortunately, it is high time to say goodbye to its clients who were served in VIP and CIP halls. It should be noted that in November 2018, the LLC “Caravan Group” received a notification from the airport administration about the non-renewal of valid contracts for 2019,” the founder wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the bewilderment is contradicting the decisions taken today by the country’s leadership.
“Quite recently, the country’s leadership decided to radically improve the sphere of civil aviation. The main issue is the need to introduce a modern management system based on attracting representatives of private business. The general line is still being maintained on the process of privatization, expansion of public-private partnership. Against this background, the airport management decides to terminate the contract with a private company and transfer its functions into the hands of the state unitary enterprise “Catering”, Mr. Musin noted.
He also added that his company in previous years was directly involved in the construction of the VIP and CIP halls at the international airport. In addition, particular knowledge on specifications of the activities of all airport services without exception was used.
“We did everything to fulfill our obligations with honor. Air service was provided on a 24-hour basis. Assortment of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were provided unlimitedly for each passenger. At the same time, a wide selection of alcoholic beverages was freely supplied for guests at the airport, since the LLC provided them at their own expense,” he stressed.
