Tashkent police officers are equipped with “special phones” designed with face recognition apps
Police officers of Tashkent are now equipped with a special mobile phone - “police department phone”, which contains a number of special applications for identification, Kun.uz correspondent said.
To date, over a thousand employees of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate have received such devices. The phone was made by special order for Tashkent law enforcement agencies.
It has four applications that are connected to electronic databases and allow to identify any resident by the face and help check the vehicle numbers against fines. The device is also connected to a special Telegram channel and uses connection services confined to a special group of people.
“It is enough for a police officer to point the phone at the person to be checked, and he will receive full information about him. The same thing happens with car numbers. Another important function of the phone is to track the location of the officer himself so that he does not waste his time in vain, but work with full efficiency,” head of the Tashkent police department Rustam Jurayev said.
It should be noted that from April 1, 2019, in accordance with the presidential decree, governmental mobile communications system will become mandatory for use by employees of state bodies, organizations, local government bodies, diplomatic missions abroad during the performance of official responsibilities.
