Uzbek Embassies abroad contact the FB administration to resolve the current obstacles in using the social network in the country

The Ministry of Communications and IT of the Republic of Uzbekistan has addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan asking for assistance in establishing contacts with the Facebook administration. Kun.uz reports about it referring to the sources.

Allegedly, a letter with the relevant content was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in December 2018.

ā€œThe matter is supported by the Uzbek embassies abroad,ā€ the source said.

A representative of the Ministry of Communications and IT said that currently, there are no obstacles to accessing major social networks – Facebook and YouTube. According to him, negotiations are underway with the network administration. 

On the first half of January 15, the Internet worked with disruptions in Uzbekistan and its speed dropped dramatically. Local Internet providers, including Turon Telecom, TPS and EVO, have reported that these issues are related to the technical work being carried out by the ā€œUzbektelekomā€.

At the same time, on the second half of the day, Internet related problems were eliminated and Internet users in Uzbekistan began to access directly the social network Facebook and YouTube without any problem, without any means.

It should be recalled that in early September 2018, there were problems with using Facebook in Uzbekistan. In October, the YouTube portal could not be accessed without any subsidiary means.
