Parents caught selling their 3-month-old child for $300

Law enforcement officers detained parents in Tashkent while they were trying to sell their child for $300, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

“Jointly with the staff of the Tashkent city department of Internal Affairs, operational activities were carried out, during which citizens P.G. and G.P. were detained while taking $300 for the sale of their 3-month-old child to citizen N.I. in the massif A. Yugnakiy in M. Ulugbek district,” the report says.

On this fact, in relation to P.G. and G.P. a criminal case was initiated under the Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are being conducted.
