President Mirziyoyev instructed to develop a draft concept for development of renewable energy sources

A draft concept for the development of renewable energy sources will be worked out in Uzbekistan. This is stated in the presidential decree “On measures to organize the activities of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

According to the document, the Ministry of Energy together with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Academy of Sciences, other interested ministries and departments, before May 1 of this year, was entrusted submitting to the Presidential Administration a draft concept for the development of renewable energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period 2019-2023.

The draft concept should contain:

-  comprehensive vision and strategic objectives for implementing priority areas for the development of renewable energy sources in the country;

-  study of advanced foreign experience in using renewable energy sources;

-  construction of renewable energy and related infrastructure with the use of modern technologies that provide a high level of industrial and environmental safety;

-  preparing specialists in higher educational institutions of the country and abroad, as well as their training at leading foreign companies in the field of renewable energy sources.

In addition, the aforementioned agencies, before October 1, 2019, were instructed to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a portfolio of investment projects for developing renewable energy sources.
