The project involves not only the construction of the plant but also the infrastructure needed to support its operation. Work is under way on the plant’s design and the foundation of the first reactor building. The project is being developed with the use of advanced technologies and Rosatom’s expertise.
Preparing qualified personnel is another key part of the project. Facilities at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, along with Rosatom’s own sites, are expected to help train specialists for Uzbekistan’s nuclear energy sector.
Plans also include a residential town near the plant for employees and their families. The proposed development would combine housing with essential public services, including modern schools, medical facilities and sports centers. Energy-efficient buildings are planned as part of the town’s infrastructure.
