Uzbekistan cooperates with Belgium in diagnosing and treating oncological diseases
Delegation of Uzbekistan led by the President of the Academy of Sciences Bekzod Yuldashev paid a working visit to Belgium on Feb 26-27, the press service of the Academy reported.
Among the priority tasks of the visit was to study nuclear methods of diagnosing oncological diseases and their treatment using proton and radiation therapy, as well as discussing the issue of creating a Center for Nuclear Medicine on the basis of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan with involvement of leading European companies.
Delegation led by Bekzod Yuldashev visited Proton Therapy Center in Brussels, which is located at University Hospital Leuven, and the production facilities of IBA.
During the talks, issues of further development of cooperation in the implementation of advanced scientific technologies, including modern methods of treating oncological diseases, were considered.
