Schoolboy in Fergana dies of an unidentified chemical substance
Reportedly, in February of this year, a 9th grade pupil of the school No. 17 in the village Ukchi of Uzbekistan district, Fergana region, died of an unidentified chemical substance.
According to reports in the media, schoolchildren forced him to swallow carbohydrates. When he went home, he drank water and began to feel bad. Consequently, he died in hospital.
The press service of the Prosecutor-General's Office told Kun.uz correspondent that S. A., born in 2003, was brought to the central district hospital as a result of taking a mouthful of an unknown chemical substance unwarily.
“The district prosecutor's office is conducting inspections regarding the case. On Feb. 18, 2019, a forensic medical examination has been assigned to identify the piece of an unknown substance,” the report said.
In accordance with the conclusion No. 63 of the forensic medical examination dated Feb. 19, 2019, because of chemical burns of the gastric and duodenal gut accompanied by abnormalities of hemorrhagic peritonitis and gastric ulcers, S. A. had fatal internal injuries.
During the pre-investigation inspections, on Feb. 26, 2019, the juvenile S. A. died in the intensive care unit of the district hospital. On the same date, a forensic medical examination has been assigned to determine the cause of his death.
Currently, inspections are underway on the case.
