Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits UAE
Today, on March 12, the third meeting of the Uzbek-UAE intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation was held in Tashkent within the framework of the UAE business delegation’s visit to the Uzbek capital, Kun.uz correspondent reported.
The delegation of the United Arab Emirates is headed by Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiyev co-chaired the meeting on the Uzbek side.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral cooperation, noted potential growth in the development of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE and confirmed their intentions on the implementation of the agreements reached during the Uzbek-UAE business forum held in October 2018.
“I am very grateful for the hospitality. We look forward to the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, which will take place on March 25,” Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori said.
In addition, one of the key issues of the meeting was the discussion of further steps for creating a portfolio of a joint investment company with a registered capital of $1 billion, whose founders will be the Abu Dhabi Development Fund and the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan.
Separately, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, issues on cooperation in the field of geological exploration, extraction and deep processing of hydrocarbons with the participation of Mubadala, continuation of expert advisory assistance from ADNOC to Uzbekneftegaz and cooperation in the field of renewable energy with Masdar were discussed.
