Uzbekistan Railways buys two Talgo 250 high-speed passenger trains
JSC Uzbekistan Railways signed a contract with Patentes Talgo S.L.U. following direct negotiations, a draft government decree published by the company states.
The company buys two Talgo 250 high-speed passenger electric trains, four economy-class cars, spare parts and equipment for service, totaling €57.5 million.
The Spanish government, in turn, approved granting a loan from the Foundation for corporate internationalization of Spanish companies (FIEM) for a total of €57.5 million for a period of 30 years. Of these, a grace period consists of 10 years with an interest rate of 0.05% per annum.
Trains and wagons will be delivered in 2019-2021. The contribution of Uzbekistan is equivalent to €15.3 million – €14.37 million in the form of tax and customs benefits, as well as at the expense of individual funds of Uzbekistan Railways in the equivalent of €934.4 thousand.
