Malaysian “TV Alhijrah” presents Uzbekistan’s tourism potential
On April 25, on the Malaysian state television channel “TV Alhijrah”, a video on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was presented.
“TV Alhijrah” began broadcasting in 2011. The main purpose of the channel is the promotion and development of Islamic culture and values in Malaysia and abroad, as well as the promotion of a positive image of Islam. The channel’s audience is 2.5 million people, and online subscribers are 10 million people.
As part of the video, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov said that the number of Malaysian tourists visiting our country in 2018 had almost doubled compared with the previous year and expressed confidence in accelerating growth rates in the current year. He also noted that Uzbekistan, along with Malaysia, entered the list of TOP-10 most attractive countries among the OIC member states according to the Global Muslim Travel Index 2019, and also ranks fifth in the Global Law and Order rating (Safest countries in the world).
The presenter introduced the cultural, historical and architectural heritage of Uzbekistan, the sights of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, as well as the heritage of great scientists and thinkers - Imam al-Bukhari, Imam al-Termizi, Imam al-Farghani, Imam al-Maturidi, Bahauddin Naqshbandi who made an exceptional contribution to the development of Islam.
Along with this, the TV channel spoke about the transformations being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of tourism. In particular, the abolition of the visa regime for citizens of 65 countries, as well as the construction of new modern hotels, the development and improvement of infrastructure to create all the necessary conditions and amenities for tourists and pilgrims from Malaysia were noted.
The introduction of the Umra Plus tour package on the route Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent - Jeddah, as well as the tourist destination Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent - Tel Aviv was stressed.
