Shavkat Mirziyoyev offers condolences to Vladimir Putin
The President of Uzbekistan sent condolences to the President of the Russian Federation in connection with casualties as a result of an emergency landing of an airplane at Sheremetyevo Airport.
According to the presidential press service, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his sincere sympathy to the families and friends of the victims, wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
It should be recalled that the Sukhoi Superjet 100, on the route Moscow-Murmansk, urgently returned on Sunday evening to Sheremetyevo Airport and made a harsh landing after 28 minutes of flight. The plane managed to land only at the second attempt due to adverse weather conditions. When landing, the aircraft broke down the racks and the engines caught fire. Passengers left the plane on an inflatable ladder. The aircraft burned out completely due to the fire.
The RF Investigative Committee reported that over 40 people died, including two children.
