“It is prohibited to attract employees to work on holidays” - Ministry of Justice
Attracting employees to work on holidays (non-working days) is prohibited. Representatives of the Justice Ministry of Uzbekistan noted this in the Telegram channel “Legal information”.
According to the data, attracting employees to work on these days by order of the employer is allowed on the grounds and in the manner established at the collective agreement. If it is not concluded, it should have been determined by the employer on the agreement with the trade union committee or other representative body of workers.
At the same time, on festive (non-working) days, work is allowed, the suspension of which is impossible due to production and other working conditions caused by the need to serve the population, as well as urgent repair and loading-unloading work.
It should be noted that the work on weekends and public holidays is paid twice more than on work days.
