Payment for the test, choice of subjects and new dates – what new rules have been introduced for university applicants?
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to improve the system of admission to higher educational institutions on the basis of testing”.
According to the decree, starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, applicants can apply up to three universities for bachelor’s degree and take the same set of subject tests. In addition, tests for admission to higher educational institutions will be conducted in July-August.
Also, the sets of subjects for which test tests are taken will be divided into two sections. The first section will include compulsory subjects for all applicants – native language test (Uzbek, Russian or Karakalpak), mathematics and history of Uzbekistan, the second section will include two subjects that correspond to the baccalaureate program that the applicant has chosen.
In addition, applicants (except persons with disabilities or are on full state support) who graduated from educational institutions before the academic year in which the tests are conducted, will be charged half of the MMW (101 thousand 365 soums) for participating in tests.
