Egyptian airline “Al Masriya Universal Airlines” successfully carried out the first direct flight en route from Tashkent to Sharm El Sheikh with 170 passengers on board, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism Development said.
Upon arrival in Sharm El Sheikh, the passengers of the flight were solemnly met by the airport administration.
Previously, in order to carry out a flight from Uzbekistan to Egypt and back, citizens of the two countries were required to purchase a plane ticket with transfers through third countries, which created certain inconveniences.
Now, thanks to the reform of the aviation industry of Uzbekistan in accordance with the presidential decree “On measures for radical improvement of the country’s civil aviation”, numerous conditions are being created for the activities of foreign airlines in the domestic market.
Direct flights between the two cities are carried out once a week every Wednesday.
