Import of foreign-made cars reduced by 1.9 times in January-May 2019

In January-May, Uzbekistan imported passenger cars for $154.6 million, follows from the data of the State Statistics Committee.

At the same time, the pace began to decline compared to last year. So, for example, at the beginning of the year, the volume of imported foreign cars was almost 4 times higher than the last year’s figure, at the beginning of spring – 2.2 times. And now it has decreased 1.9 times. If in January-February the import of foreign cars amounted to $90 million, in March-May only $64 million.

İt should be noted that if an imported car costs $40,000 or more then a zero duty rate and 20% excise tax are applied to it.
