Uzbekneftegaz chairman says a giant gas field may be discovered in Karakalpakstan soon
On the territory of the Ustyurt oil and gas region in Karakalpakstan, a giant gas field “may be hiding underneath”, the chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz Bahodir Sidikov said.
According to him, over the past two years, three new deposits with very good prospects have been discovered in the area.
“Just yesterday, at the Arslan-12 well, we uncovered another gas show. It is very likely that all these three deposits represent a single reservoir. The Arslan-12 is located between the Arslan and South Surgil deposits,” Sidikov said.
This suggests that there is “one large, gigantic gas field” in this area.
