Lunar eclipse to be observed in Uzbekistan on July 17
On the night of Wednesday, July 17, there will be a partial eclipse of the moon. It will be visible throughout Uzbekistan, the press service of the Academy of Sciences reports.
The essence of the event is that three celestial bodies - the Sun, the Earth and the Moon will be on the same line and the Earth's shadow hits the surface of the Moon.
The eclipse will begin at 1:01 am by Tashkent time throughout Uzbekistan, when the shadow of the Earth begins to cover the disk of the Moon. At 2:30 am, the maximum eclipse phase will begin, when 66% of the lunar surface is obscured by shadow.
Unlike solar eclipses, when parts of the solar disk are not visible, during a lunar eclipse, the moon remains visible.
