Minsk hosts Uzbekistan-Belarus Forum of Regions
The First Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus kicked off in Minsk with themed panel discussions, BelTA reports.
The forum will feature events on industrial cooperation, agro-industrial complex and interaction in the humanitarian, IT and other relevant scientific spheres. The plenary session scheduled for July 30 will focus on regional cooperation as the key factor for the development of interstate relations. It is expected that the forum will result in the signing of about 15 interregional agreements on cooperation and also commercial contracts.
Guests and participants of the forum will get familiar with the exhibition of Uzbek goods. Themed expositions will be on show on the sidelines of the panel discussions. A monument to Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi will be presented in Minsk during the forum.
The event will be attended by representatives of regions, ministries and agencies, MPs, and businessmen of the two countries. The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Sadik Safayev, will include representatives of Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand, Khorezm, Fergana and Tashkent regions.
The forum will take place as part of Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Belarus.
