IBRD allocates $100 million for development of three cities in Uzbekistan
A presidential decree on measures to implement the Medium-Size Cities Integrated Urban Development Project, with participation of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, has been adopted, the press service of the Justice Ministry reports.
For the implementation of this project, the IBRD provided Uzbekistan with a loan of $100 million.
The pilot cities within the framework of the project include Yangiyul in the Tashkent region, Kagan in the Bukhara region and Chartak in the Namangan region.
The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade will be appointed responsible for the implementation of the project, and the overall coordination will be entrusted to the Urbanization agency under the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
The decree approved:
- the main technical and economic parameters of the project;
- the forecast schedule for the repayment of the principal debt, interest payments and commissions on the IBRD loan attracted for the project;
- “roadmap” for the implementation of this project in the years 2019-2021.
