Foreign Ministry: There are no citizens of Uzbekistan among the victims of mass shootings in US
Among the victims of shootings in several US states, there are no citizens of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
Over the past 24 hours, a series of mass shootings were committed in a number of large US cities.
August 3, 2019 in the city of El Paso, Texas, there was a shooting at a Walmart supermarket. According to media estimates, 20 people became victims of the armed attack, another 26 were injured, and 21-year-old suspect Patrick Crusius was detained. The motives for the crime are being clarified.
Officials said the shooting was being treated as a “domestic terrorist case”.
On the night of August 4 in Dayton, Ohio, another mass shooting took place. According to preliminary data, 10 people were killed, including the attacker himself. Twenty-seven people were injured in the attack.
At least seven people were wounded by gunfire early Sunday in Chicago after someone opened fire near a playground on the city's west side.
The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. in Douglas Park, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Authorities said someone shot their weapon from inside a black Chevrolet Camaro on the street. Those injured ranged in age from 19 to 25.
No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
A couple of hours later, a separate shooting left two wounded a few blocks away.
As of August 5, there are no citizens of Uzbekistan on the lists of victims and victims of tragic events in the states of Texas and Ohio, as well as in Chicago.
