Abdulaziz Akkulov, delivering a speech at the event organized with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, paid particular attention to Uzbekistan’s potential in pilgrim tourism.

“There are a lot of religious centers in Uzbekistan. The Khazrati-Imam complex, where one of the oldest shrines is stored – the holy Quran of Caliph Usman, which is important for the Islamic world, the memorial complex of Muhammad Al-Bukhari, the mausoleum of the Sufis of the Naqshbandi school are among them. Thousands of tourists visit our country every year to get acquainted with historical shrines. It should be noted that in recent years, pilgrim tourism has been recognized as one of the most promising areas of tourism industry in Uzbekistan, and the Government of the Republic has taken a number of measures to develop the pilgrim tourism,” Abdulaziz Akkulov said.

Within the framework of the event, a presentation of the pilgrim tourism of Uzbekistan was held, at which historical cities, holy monuments and famous figures of the Islamic world who lived in our country were presented, and a video on the relevant topic was shown.

It is noteworthy that the Muslim Board of Tatarstan independently organizes such trips to foreign countries.

Representatives of the delegation of Uzbekistan, in connection with the recognition of Bukhara as the capital of Islamic culture in 2020, invited Tatar Muslims to large-scale cultural and educational events in Bukhara.
