State Tourism Committee forecasts export of tourism services to be around $1.3 billion by year end
The State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan predicts that by the end of 2019, the export of tourism services will amount to $1.3 billion, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
According to the committee, over the 8 months of 2019, the republic was visited by more than 4.3 million foreign tourists, which is 26.7% more than the same period last year (3.4 million). As a result, the export of tourism services amounted to $854.5 million (an increase of 28%).
“By the end of 2019, more than 6.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit, which is 15% more than in 2018 ($5.3 million),” the committee noted.
In accordance with the established forecasts of the export of tourism services, it will be close to $1.3 billion by the end of the year. It is 30% higher than last year’s volume ($ 1.04 billion).
