On October 15, 2019 in Tashkent, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), with the assistance of the Embassy of our country in Kuala Lumpur, organized Uzbekistan-Malaysia business forum and B2B meetings.

According to the MFA press service, the Malaysian delegation included representatives of more than 30 leading industrial enterprises, manufacturers of food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electric transformers and building materials.

During the event, the Malaysian side thoroughly acquainted with the favorable conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan, measures taken to support the construction of hotels, ongoing large-scale economic reforms (including monetary policy, the introduction of private ownership of land), activities of free economic zones, and trade-economic potential of the country, as well as upcoming international investment forums in Uzbekistan.

Preliminary agreements were reached on the implementation of investment projects for the production of pharmaceuticals, dairy and coffee products in the republic, and issues were discussed on further development of cooperation on the export of goods from Uzbekistan to Malaysia.

It is worth noting that in January-August 2019, bilateral trade increased by 52.2% compared to the same period last year and reached $74.1 million.
