Iran praises Uzbekistan’s efforts to resolve the Afghan problem
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Advisor to the Foreign Minister of Iran, Special Envoy for Afghanistan Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and peaceful settlement of the issues there.
Uzbekistan informed the Iranian side about the efforts on resolving the Afghan problem, priority directions of the country’s policy on economic reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard praised the policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on broad integration of Afghanistan into the regional process, providing practical assistance to full implementation of various infrastructure projects initiated by Uzbekistan.
Taking into account the importance of peaceful resolution of the Afghan problem, the Special Envoy of Iran for Afghanistan noted the need for consolidating efforts of the countries of the region in this direction.
