Procter & Gamble plans to launch production in Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade hosted a meeting with a delegation of the American company Procter & Gamble, headed by P&G’s Caucasus and Central Asian Republics Country Manager Deger Kurtaslanoglu, the ministerial press service reported.

Kurtaslanoglu noted that the company pays great attention to the industrial potential of Uzbekistan and the market of the country.

The evidence of the interest shown by the corporation’s leadership in activities in Uzbekistan was the return of Procter and Gamble to the market and the opening of a distribution network in 2017. Currently, it has around 260 employees.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation and considered the creation of high-tech production facilities in the republic in accordance with American standards of quality and environmental friendliness.

Following the talks, the sides agreed on close cooperation for a thorough study of this initiative in order to specify the format and conditions of possible cooperation.
