Central Election Commission registers members of the Senate

At a meeting of the Central Election Commission held on January 17, issues related to the registration of members of the Senate of Oliy Majlis and the convening of the first meetings of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate were discussed.

In accordance with Articles 14, 85 of the Electoral Code of Uzbekistan, the Central Election Commission registered the members of the Senate of Oliy Majlis on the basis of relevant joint meetings of the Jokargi Kenes and local councils of people’s deputies held on January 16-17.

The CEC also adopted a resolution on the registration of members of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, appointed by the President of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the decision of the Central Election Commission, the first meeting of the Senate of Oliy Majlis will be held on January 20.
