A fire occurred at the power unit No. 4 of the Novo-Angren TPP on Thursday, January 30, the press service of the Energy Ministry told Kun.uz.
Today, a video footage of the fire at the station appeared on social networks.
“At 11:40, to eliminate the malfunction in the boiler of the unit, the power unit No. 4 of the Novo-Angren TPP was turned off. At this time, the roof of the power unit No. 4 caught fire. The firefighting team of the station used primary fire extinguishing means, and the forces of fire brigades were also involved,” the report said.
According to the press service, the fire was eliminated at 14:00. No casualties were reported.
Currently, repair works are underway at the power unit. A special commission has been created to find out the causes of the incident.
As noted by the Ministry of Energy, the remaining three power units with a capacity of 580 MW continue to operate.
