“Digital Tashkent” is a project aimed at improving the efficiency of urban governance using digital and innovative technologies, as well as improving the quality of life of residents and visitors of the city. In the process of working on the concept, all regulatory documents governing the provision of public services by authorities were inventoried.
On March 4, the khokimiyat of Tashkent city and the UN Development Program held a press conference on the introduction of cooperation and innovation in the field of digital development. The event was held in the form of a presentation for the mass media and public council under the administration of the city of Tashkent.
The cooperation of the capital’s administration with the United Nations Development Program in the field of digital development has been carried out since June 2019, as part of the UNDP project “Effective Public Administration and the Promotion of the Development of Digital Transformation”. The partnership is aimed at the digital transformation of services and administrative processes of the municipality, as well as the introduction of innovations in urban management. The “Digital Tashkent” project, developed in 2019, is aimed at improving the efficiency of urban governance using digital and innovative technologies, as well as improving the quality of life of residents and guests of the capital. The project is supported by the British Embassy in Uzbekistan.
Currently, the system is used to analyze and visualize transport, customs and socio-economic data, which, in turn, contributes to the rational use of available resources and increase the efficiency of the services provided by the khokimiyat and its subordinate bodies.
Within the framework of the project, it will be possible to use a number of tools, such as monitoring traffic jams in the capital in real time, compiling a map of pits and potholes on the roads, determining in which areas the need for a taxi is high.
