Senate plenary meeting scheduled for May 11
The next plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis is scheduled for May 11 and will be held in a videoconference format, the press service of the upper house reported.
During the meeting, it is planned to review 20 issues, including 10 laws.
Among them, there are new ones such as laws “On the establishment of the “Salomatlik” order,” “On the establishment of the “Sog’lom Turmush” medal,” “On the establishment of the “Fakhriy Murabby” order”.
Along with this, the Senate will discuss the law on amendments and additions to the act of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget for 2020”, as well as the law on the categories of citizens to be granted a permanent residence permit in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region.
Senators also plan to discuss the issue of Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union.
During the plenary session, the Cabinet of Ministers will present a report on the implementation of the state program “Year of Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy” in the first quarter of 2020. The Ombudsman, the Court of Audit, the Prosecutor General and the Board Chairman of the Central Bank will also submit reports on their activities in 2019.
Senators will also consider the issue of sending a parliamentary request to the government on compliance of khokims’ decisions with the legislation.
The agenda also includes the approval of the presidential decree “On measures to radically update state policy in the field of economic development and poverty reduction”.
