Coronavirus: Does Uzbekistan expect the second wave?
During a live broadcast on the UzReport TV channel, a member of the center for the fight against coronavirus, Khabibulla Oqilov, imparted whether Uzbekistan should expect a new wave of the pandemic.
“According to the experience of Chinese colleagues, after lifting quarantine restrictions, new cases of the disease are detected only in those arriving from foreign countries,” he said.
The expert emphasized that easing quarantine measures does not mean that everyone should go outside.
“The best ways of protection are strict adherence to hygiene rules, wearing masks and staying at home as long as possible,” he said.
At a video conference on May 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan will begin to gradually ease lockdown measures.
In addition, the requirement to obtain a special permit (sticker) for cars is also expected to be abolished in regions classified as “green”, i.e. free from coronavirus.
