Turkmenistan freed 61 Uzbek convicts after amnesty
61 citizens of Uzbekistan, who served their sentences in prisons of Turkmenistan, were freed on the basis of an amnesty. All of them returned to their homeland, the MIA press service reported.
There are 59 men and 2 women among the released. Most of them are natives of the Khorezm region (25) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (24).
According to the press service, all of them were brought into the republic through the customs border post in the Alat district, Bukhara region and placed in a 14-day quarantine near Tashkent.
