Tax Committee: 611.6 billion soums were returned to exporters during the quarantine
During the quarantine period, 611.6 billion soums were transferred from the State budget to the accounts of business entities as a return on value-added tax for enterprises using a zero VAT rate for the export of goods.
As of 1 June, the STC had reviewed 804 applications: 194 from Tashkent, 102 from Tashkent region, 86 from Andijan region, 81 from Namangan region, 73 from Bukhara region and 34 from Karakalpakstan. Ministry of Finance received 336 applications with a total worth of 611.6 billion soums. An unjustified reduction of VAT refund has been identified in 147 applications. In turn, 468 documents were returned to the complainants because of discrepancies.
“Consideration of exporters’ appeals on the issue of VAT refunds is one of the priorities for the STC. We remind that business entities in whose reports discrepancies are identified have the right to correct errors and apply for a VAT refund again,” the State Tax Committee noted.
By July 1, 2020, tax authorities will reimburse taxpayers for the amount of VAT resulting from the excess of the tax credited over the amount assessed. It means, the tax authorities will return VAT not only to exporters but also to other VAT payers.
