Coronavirus leaves more Americans dead than World War I
The death toll from a new coronavirus disease in the United States exceeded on Tuesday the loss of Americans during World War I, follows from data provided by Johns Hopkins University.
In the United States, almost 117 thousand people died from coronavirus. The country’s losses during World War I amounted to 116.5 thousand people. In total, 2.1 million COVID-19 cases were registered in the United States.
The total number of coronavirus infection cases exceeded 8.15 million. 441 thousand people died. TOP-5 countries in terms of the number of deaths, excluding the United States, include Brazil (45.2 thousand), Great Britain (42.1 thousand), Italy (34.4 thousand) and France (29.6 thousand).
