State Statistics Committee: Uzbekistan exported gold for $1.6 billion in Jan-May
According to the State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan’s gold exports in January-May 2020 amounted to $1.6 billion.
During the reporting period, the share of gold in total exports amounted to 31.9%. Over the same period last year, the figure was 20.2%
In the first quarter of 2020, the export of gold accounted for 29.8% in total exports (a little over $1 billion).
Over five months, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $12.9 billion, down by $2.4 billion compared to the same period last year.
Of the total foreign trade turnover, exports reached $5.1 billion (less by 15.6% in comparison to January-May 2019), and imports – $7.8 billion (a decrease of 16.1%). A passive balance of foreign trade in the amount of $2.6 billion was recorded.
