MFA denied rumors that citizens of Uzbekistan are allowed to cross the Russian-Kazakh border
Recently, false messages have been circulated on social networks that the border between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan is supposedly open and citizens of Uzbekistan in Russia can return to their homeland through the territory of Kazakhstan.
In addition, individuals involved in private transportation send out announcements about the transfer of people to the Russian-Kazakh state border, promising to “help” with crossing the border.
“We urge you not to succumb to such provocations. We inform you that quarantine measures, including restrictions on entry, introduced in Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan remain in force,” the MFA notes.
These days, there is once again an increased congregation of citizens of Uzbekistan in the village of Bolshaya Chernigovka in the Samara Oblast, in the Buzuluk district and the city of Sol-Iletsk, Orenburg Oblast, most of which, having believed false reports, arrived from different parts of Russia and intend to return to their homeland through the territory of Kazakhstan.
“We emphasize that in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, an increased congregation of citizens escalates the risk of contracting the virus, especially for people at risk (elderly, sick, people with chronic diseases). Once again, we ask our fellow citizens on the territory of Russia not to succumb to provocations, not to attempt to travel to checkpoints of the Russian-Kazakh interstate border, to remain in their current places of residence and to strictly observe all quarantine measures,” the press service added.
