Syrdarya has officially registered the first death from coronavirus. No information is available on the patient who died.
At a briefing on July 17 with the participation of the first deputy khokim of the Gulistan district B. Botirov, it was announced that the first death from coronavirus had been registered in the Syrdarya region.
“To date, 219 families and their 903 members in Gulistan have been quarantined for 14 days. As of today, 1,626 tests have been conducted in the virology laboratories of the Regional AIDS Center and the Regional Sanitary-Epidemiological Wellbeing Center to obtain swabs from the nose to test citizens for coronavirus infection by polymer chain reaction (PCR).
Of these, 7 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection. One of the patients diagnosed with the disease has died,” B. Botirov, deputy khokim of the Gulistan district, said.
It should be recalled that on July 16, the Health Ministry said that a 67-year-old A. A. (male), living in the city of Gulistan, had died of acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure. However, the death was reported at the Ibn Sino city clinical hospital No. 1 in Tashkent. Therefore, it is not clear whether the death case reported by the deputy khokim of the Gulistan district on July 16 is the same one or not.
