Asadjon Khodjayev appointed Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications
The Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) under the administration of the President of Uzbekistan is headed by the former head of the State Inspectorate for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications Asadjon Khodjayev.
Asadjon Khodjayev was born on September 3, 1970, in the Chimkent region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1993, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Electrical Engineering, in 2001 – the Academy of State and Social Construction.
In 1995-2001, Khodjayev worked at the Ministry of Communications, the central office of the Agency for Post and Telecommunications, in 2001-2003, he served as First Deputy Director-General of the State Joint Stock Company “O’zbekiston Pochtasi”, First Deputy Director of the Center for development and implementation of computer and information technologies “O’zinfokom”. In 2003-2004, he worked as a leading consultant to the staff of the National Security Council under the President, deputy head of the project for the development of information and communication technologies and information security.
In addition, in 2004-2011 he was the Deputy Director-General of the Agency for Communications and Informatization, in 2011-2012 – Director-General of the Intellectual Property Agency, in 2012-2017 – the Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
In 2017, he worked as head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy State Adviser to the President, and head of the presidential press service. In 2017-2018, he served as the first deputy head of the scientific and educational memorial complex named after Islam Karimov.
