Police arrests thief who stole 50 million soums from a resident’s safe in Samarkand
The press service of the Samarkand region internal affairs department reports that officers finally arrested a thief who stole 50 million soums from a safe in an apartment in the Narpay district, Samarkand region.
On August 20, the resident of the Sarbozor mahalla requested the Narpay district DIA to take measures against an unknown citizen, who broke into his apartment between 3:30 on August 19 and 9:35 on August 20, cracked open an iron safe and stole 50 million soums and $200 in cash.
In the course of the operational event carried out, the law enforcement officers established that the robber was the resident of the Salovat mahalla of the Narpay district. They confiscated 50 million soums and $200 of cash as physical evidence.
The Investigation Department initiated criminal proceedings against the intruder under Article 169 of the Criminal Code. An investigation is currently ongoing.
