2,139 small businesses suspended their activities due to the pandemic – Ministry of Finance
871 small businesses in trade, 571 in industry, 191 in foodservice and others ceased operations. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov in his report to the plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis on the implementation of the state budget program for the first half of 2020.
“Taxes in the amount of 155.3 billion soums were not imposed on 95,144 individual entrepreneurs who ceased their activities during the quarantine. In January-June this year, turnover tax revenues amounted to 630 billion soums, it decreased by 307 billion soums compared to the same period last year for the following reasons:
- first, part of the taxpayers began to pay general taxes as the amount of their turnover exceeded 1 billion soums;
- second, as a result of the pandemic, the production of small business and private entrepreneurship in the first half of this year decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period last year, the volume of services – by 2.3%, retail trade turnover – by 2.9%.
At the same time, in the 2nd quarter of this year, 2,139 small businesses suspended their activities due to the pandemic, including 871 in trade, 571 in industry, 191 in food services and others.
