Odil Akhmedov joins FC Tianjin Teda

The captain of the Uzbekistan national team Odil Akhmedov has moved to FC Tianjin Teda, the official website of the UFA reported.

Odil Akhmedov, the midfielder of the FC Shanghai SIPG and the national team of Uzbekistan, will continue his career in another club.

“Akhmedov has reached an agreement with another club of the Chinese Super League – Tianjin Teda,” the report said.

Odil Akhmedov has appeared in 98 matches for Shanghai SIPG since 2017, scoring 10 goals, winning the Chinese Super League and the Super Cup.

The 32-year-old Uzbek player will join FC Tianjin Teda after the match between Shanghai SIPG and Qingdao in the 10th round of the Chinese Super League on September 10.

For information, the FC Tianjin Teda is led by the former head coach of the South Korean national team Uli Stielike from Germany.

It should be noted that the midfielder did not appear in the last round of the championship and FC Shanghai SIPG had to face its first defeat of the season. After 9 rounds, the team leads with 20 points in Group B of the Chinese Super League. Tianjin Teda is the last in the group – 8th place.
