Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Creative Union of Journalists dies aged 69
Chairman of the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, journalist and poet Sadulla Khakimov died at the age of 69.
“The Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan expresses its condolences over the death of the board chairman, honored cultural worker of the country, a well-known journalist and poet Sadulla Khakimov,” the press service of the association said.
The cause of his death is unknown.
Sadulla Khakimov was born on March 25, 1951, in the Forish district, Jizzakh region. In 1977, he graduated from the journalism faculty of the National University of Uzbekistan. He started his career as a teacher in the Gallaaral district.
Sadulla Khakimov was awarded the honorary title “Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (2002), the order “Mehnat shuhrati” (2019) for his services to the country.
Since December 29, 2016, he had served as the chairman of the Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan.
