Uzbekistan, Belarus aim to boost cooperation in tourism

Deputy Prime Minister, head of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich.

During the talks, the parties discussed the issues of increasing tourist flows, as well as attracting Belarusian companies to build eco-houses in Uzbekistan, in particular in the Bostanlyk and Zaamin districts, the Tourism Committee reported.

The sides are working on an intergovernmental agreement to boost mutual tourist exchange between Uzbekistan and Belarus. The agreement is planned to be inked within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, to be held on December 16-18 this year.

The document is expected to help promote the tourism potential of the countries.

Special emphasis will be placed on the promotion of ski resorts in Uzbekistan, the committee says.
