Statistics Committee announces regions with highest birth rate

According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first 9 months of 2020, 614.7 thousand births were registered in the civil registry offices. This is more by 24.9 thousand compared to the same period last year.

According to the Committee’s press service, the analysis of births by regions showed that the highest number of births was registered in Samarkand (74.4 thousand people) and the lowest – in Syrdarya (15.6 thousand people).

In the Surkhandarya region, 28 babies were registered per thousand population, while in the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 20 babies.
